Ravi Parakkat

Honored as an OPRF Villager of the year for 2020 and nominated again in 2021 for founding Takeout 25 and for community service as Oak Park Village Trustee. Takeout 25 is a ground-up movement to save local restaurants and keep restaurant workers employed throughout the COVID-19 crisis and was set up as a not-for-profit in 2021 to also address sustainability and food security.

During his tenure on Urban Prairie Waldorf School's board, Ravi spearheaded the school’s sustainability efforts, propelling UPWS to be celebrated as one of the twenty-seven nationwide recipients of the Department of Education’s Green Ribbon award for outstanding environmental practices and education.
